Now, come home.
Let us sit around the fire,
sharing food and story of the great
adventures of the day!
What trials did you face?
What heights did you reach?
What wounds need healing?
What tales need sharing?
-
Now, come home.
Let us sit around the fire,
sharing food and story of the
great adventures of the day!
Here, we rest -
allowing it all to settle
as we become the next wizened versions of self!
Rested and healed;
Nourished;
Stronger;
Wiser;
Ready for the next adventure.
It is now just over a month since I completed my second 100 mile trail running event. A wild adventure! One to test me, once more, to each core of my being: physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually.
Oh, how I love a grand adventure! How I love to push myself as I explore my own being in connection to the great expanse that is life on this Planet Earth!
How I love to test myself, and then, to release into the second great wonder of this life:
the release;
the letting go;
the exhale.
-
Now, come home:
into stillness;
into self;
into other;
into all that is here to be received.
What is here to be felt, to be witnessed, to be known in this very step that I am in?
What needs deeper feeling?
What needs deeper witnessing?
What needs more space so that it can emerge?
What needs more space so that it can form the connections that are ready to be made?
These are the sorts of questions that I am holding space for in these days of deep rest, nourishment, and rejuvenation. I hold them as an inquiry into my own life, into my own self, so that I may move forward with greater ease, greater skill, and deeper alignment.
And, as I hold space for these answers, there is, perhaps, a bit more space to hold for that which expands far beyond my own being and out into the great existential askings! That is, the question of what it is we are doing here, after all! A question that we can deepen into, form ideas on, and - all-the-while - dare to catch a glimpse of.
With this, here is my latest attempt to touch upon the answer to the greatest question of all:
In life, we must move. Then, we must find stillness. It is all part of The Great Dance through it all! One human experience, life lived as these wildly beautiful and complex beings that we are!
Go out and explore!
Then, come home. Find your feet on the floor. Root down into your favorite chair. Breathe deeply. Breathe slowly. Breathe with ease. Be filled with grace. Listen. Discern.
One day soon, you’ll be ready for your next grand adventure.
